Hello!

I am the First Hawaiian Bank Distinguished Associate Professor of Finance at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where I have been on the faculty since 2015.

My research examines how information frictions, financial institutions, and market mechanisms shape the allocation of capital and economic outcomes. I study these questions across banking, capital markets, and real estate finance, with a growing emphasis on how artificial intelligence and other emerging financial technologies transform financial decision-making and market structures.

I earned my Ph.D. in Finance and Real Estate from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2015. Before my doctoral studies, I was an MBS quant on the Fixed Income Research team in Citigroup’s Investment Banking division in New York.
